She has held the same position with the Sarasota Opera and Akron Symphony orchestras and has performed frequently with the Milwaukee and Pittsburgh symphonies. Marie, a native Oregonian, graduated from the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied with Jeanne Baxtresser, Alberto Almarza and Amy Porter. Hailed by the New York Times for her “extraordinary agile” solo playing, she has spent summers at the Tanglewood Music Center, Pacific Music Festival, and Spoleto Festival USA. |
