Joseph Johnson is in his third season as principal cellist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, a position he also held with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and principal cellist of the Santa Fe Opera.

He recently completed a three-volume recording project with the G. Schirmer Instrumental Library: The Cello Collection, featuring companion recordings of cello literature appropriate for recitals and contests. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, he earned his Master’s degree from Northwestern University. He performs on a 1747 Juan Guillami cello, crafted in Barcelona. |
